Joyful Noise!

We were formed in 1998 as the "Mountain View Barbershop Quartet." Original members were Tony and Al, Mountain View Community Church minister Ron Gross as lead, and Joel Kraai on tenor - Steve joined the quartet six years ago and promptly renamed the quartet Joyful Noise. Joel entered the seminary in 2003, and we started looking for a new tenor. David came to our annual show (invited by Al), then to a meeting, and then into our quartet later that year. We heard him singing all four parts, and decided right then that the four of us could be making beautiful music together.

Tenor David Zoetewey - 26, single, lives in Denver, full time student

Lead  Steve Jackson - 50, single, lives in Golden, enjoys working on his computer, watching TV, reading, and playing bingo. Chapter President

Baritone Tony Pranaitis - 51, married, wife Nancy - two sons / one daughter / one grandson, several dogs, goats, etc. Chiropractor - home/office and small ranch near Golden

Chapter Youth In Harmony Vice President

Bass Al Klinger - 53, married, Bunny (sings with High Country Chorus), one son, three daughters, and nine grandkids. Lives in Denver - works as mechanical engineer - avid science fiction and astronomy buff - loves a good computer.

The quartet sings religious, patriotic, gospel, and some '50's "oldies," as well as lots of good old-fashioned barbershop songs. They are known for their rousing gospel tunes and have sung all over the Denver metropolitan area. We have decided to adjust our sound with Steve going to tenor full time and David sliding down to the lead part. We think this will make us a better quartet and play to our strengths and weaknesses more. We are excited about the lighter, resonant sound. We may be Christian, but we're not stuffy!
