4 Cents Postage Due

The quartet formed casually, to take advantage of a weekend of quartet coaching at the Estes Park Mini-Hep School, at the time when postage had just increased from 25 cents to 29 cents.  The quartet wanted a name with "four" in it.  One of the members happened to mention the postal rate increase and said, "I bet there will be a lot of letters returned with 4 cents postage due on it."  Hence, the name came into being.

The quartet currently consists of a retired geologist, Bob Dickman, a retired school teacher, Al White, and two retired dentists, Jim Pearce and Len Wheaton, and thus is indeed a senior quartet.  We perform a program designed to please adult groups with upbeat familiar old songs, and comedy.  We contribute much of our fees to the Youth in Harmony programs at the chapter and district levels.
